    Safe standing as a solution?

Posted by That idiot Cuba on 30/5/2023, 21:57:24

Give away fans the Oak Road. Half seats and half safe standing.

Convert Kenilworth upper or lower to safe standing.

    Capacity increase surely?

    Build some new toilets.

    Win-win?

Any reasons why this can’t happen?

      1. It doesn't increase capacity.

      2. Why spend more than needed on KR?

      3. You're thick as shit.

      4. Take a break from this board. It is consuming your life.

        Helpful.

So why have at all if it doesn’t increase capacity? Seems a pointless concept.

Agree we don’t need to spend unnecessary money but it was a perfectly reasonable question and aimed at helping the many people who may wish to get tickets.

        Apologies for asking genuine questions.

Mate, safe standing does not increase capacity. That's a fact. It has to give the same space, regulations wise. And in a ground where the seats are as cramped as ours it might actually reduce capacity.

You probably need to research what they mean by permitted safe standing.

An area in South West London where at least one person on here has a problem with or more precisely a problem with my involvement in that area.

First I've ever heard of it and I have no interest on who you were, whatever that means?
                      You love attention.
You seem to revel in your own self importance and you are thick. Very thick.

From the little I have looked into safe standing, I don’t think it increases capacity. I think it is also more costly to install.
But I’m happy to be corrected if I’m wrong !!

Yes, no such thing as safe standing.

Of course there is no such thing as safe sitting either....

Safe standing doesn't increase capacity, its still one space, the same as one seat

                    Fair enough.

Although if done well would it allow full use of all space in those areas?

If we could get up to 12,500 somehow it would make a real difference and build on the local community interest as well as allowing more to get a chance of getting to see some games.

If you did it anywhere surely it’d be the Bobbers giving we already have to rebuild that.

Several people have mentioned additional seating under the New Stand replacing the boards and catering kiosk.

I am sure that I remember once seeing a concept drawing of the New Stand that had such a tier underneath it so that would be possible and highly welcome but how much money do you spend on a stadium that's got a three year lifespan. 10 million is probably more than enough.

Though I agree, it is a crying shame that we don't have additional capacity to accommodate more people given the additional interest in the club right now.

Not a bad shout but not if doesn’t provide any more capacity.

As above it’s been pointed out that capacity is 1:1.

It is difficult to get permission on an old stadium but if introduced has to be for both home and away fans
