    The Brentford and Brighton way

Posted by That idiot Cuba on 29/5/2023, 18:16:55

Keep seeing questions about the Forest “way” and a completely new squad.

Obviously we will look at how Brentford and Brighton (and Fulham this time) made it work.

They purchased the best they could from lower leagues and Europe.

We probably need a dozen new players.

It’s an odd point you are making.

Forest obviously did what we did last year and then spent £170 million on players.

Will we do the same - obviously no.

We will do it better and for far less.

It's the style on here - pick one line and argue against that regardless of if it matters to the point or not

Usually used when they haven't got a counter argument against the actual point

                    Incredible.

Still if point scoring on a perfectly reasonable point is your bag then…..

This all started with Stevenage Road.

                    My apologies

Forest replaced almost every player at huge cost.

We can’t bring in 12 at Lower wages?

              Why not?

                  Bradley

As a bare minimum will be going.

Cody may come back but otherwise.

So yes we do need to do quite a lot.

Not all of them need replacing directly

Freeman has not been good enough nor fit enough.
Thorpe hasn’t developed as quickly as hoped.

                            Let’s be rational.

I disagree we have a good core already

Horvath, Lockyer, Nakamba, Doughty, Clark, Morris and Adebayor all start for me, then add four real quality ones to add to that.

Locks, Marv, Burke, Morris and Bell are immediately Prem Quality

                    Horvarth, not sure he is.

Others will play their part but we have to be realistic and do what Brentford did and buy the best we can from the league below.

Ethan Pinnock clear example of how this works.

Could probably land Lewis Ferguson for £3 or £4 million just like Hickey he has been outstanding this year at Bolonga and has always wanted to play EPL football think he would be a great signing does a bit off everything can defend can attack box to box and get goals

Well let's not discuss it at all then.

As it happens I think we need 2 centre backs (as Bradley is going)
                          A keeper

                          Two right wing backs
                          A left wing back

                          A striker

Nakamba or similar plus one other in the middle
