Travel home from Wembley

A strong letter going into Great Western Railways tomorrow who decided to cancel my train home as I was on the journey up from Devon to the game.
Despite being one of the greatest city's in the world the last train to Devon left at 8:03pm so no chance of getting that if the game went to extra time, so decided to go from Bristol Parkway as I could guarantee staying for extra time and penalties plus stay on from any presentation. Cue my 22:02 train being cancelled. As there was no way I could guarantee the queue for the tube would let me make the last train, I had to leave at 90 minutes.
I toyed with idea of staying in London or chancing a coach from Victoria but for family reasons needed to ensure I made it home.
I wasn’t the only one as there were both Coventry and other Luton supporters on the train home who had had to make a similar choice.
The build up and atmosphere at Wembley was amazing as was our football for the 1st half but emotionally I am not sure I feel I was actually the game having missed extra time, pens and presentation? My choice I know but sad that myself and others felt we had to make the decision to leave.
Last train to Exeter St David’s left at 20.30…missed that. Took a coach from Victoria Coach Station and got home just after 3.00 am…but we won so who cares!!!
We were trying to get a train from Watford Junction.
They cancelled two trains to Northampton due to signal failure, and the ones to coventry just kept saying delayed until they disappeared off the screen, because there was a damaged track after MK, apparently.
Then they offered a replacement bus service, so 50 people went outside to a minibus, which they then decided to send to Coventry.
It was a shambles, but I think there were genuine issues. Whoever comes up with the backup plans for train cancellations needs sacking though. And the fact they don't tell you why the trains are cancelled is a joke.
They're lucky it wasn't a final between two teams with more animosity, because it could have been carnage.
The FL have a case to answer as well. Scheduling games late on bank holiday weekends that leave people stranded in various stations is at best ignorant.
No other football so i’d guess it was due to the rugby union premiership final taking place in London earlier - transport issues plus sky didn’t want a clash with that game on BT?
