Bruno v Tyson

Just watched the Bruno v Tyson documentary again. So refreshing to watch it and makes you realise how much of a theatrical sport it is now. Boxing really has lost its flare. Seeing Bruno and Tyson have that respect for each other and how much they both went through is a tough watch, especially with the mental problems both still suffer.Fair play to both of them.

I like listening to Tyson speak in his later years. He mentioned that he was always scared to enter the ring, but he knew his opponent was more scared than him. Never really thought about it like that, always thought that had ultra big egos and no one could beat them.

Mike Tyson was a sporting aberration, how someone his size won the world championship in that era is incredible, can’t have been another boxer with his mix of speed and power surely?

I read his autobiography, lost his way after Cus died, amazing he didn’t die with all the drugs he was taking.
his book as fascinating, awful upbringing, and then surrounded himself with the wrong people , he was a real student of the sport , studied the history of it as well, knew all the old fighters etc.

Now tell me - has Tyson done time for a sex offence, yes or no?

Agreed. He was definitely a one off for sure. His speed and power were absolutely crazy and I can't think of anyone else like him. The thing that ruined him was his mental health and bad temper. There will never be another like him.
Boxing is going through a huge identity crisis at the moment because you are getting whole fight cards starring online personalities that don't belong in the ring.
