How I see the rest of the season panning out

Posted by Godders on 24/3/2023, 20:14:38

Burnley will go up as champions.
Sheffield United will slip up. The cup run will take it's toll - their bubble has already burst.
Unfortunately it will be Middlesbrough who capitalise on this and go up in 2nd spot.
Leaving us, Sheff Utd, and 2 others in the play offs.
But fear not. This will be our year when we finally overcome our playoff hoodoo.

History tells us his boss won't listen unfortunately.

Actually common sense, wisdom, and just a tiny bit of theological understanding tells us that God always listens to prayers but frequently doesn't answer them in the ways that we might want or expect.

For instance if you prayed to win the lottery it's highly likely that God will turn down that request (ie say no but that's not the same as what you think as not listening). Reason being is because He knows how that sudden glut of money can actually ruin people.
Similarly, praying for healing of people who are very ill and then they die is probably God answering that prayer with an, "Ok, I'll completely heal that person by removing their imperfections" because Christians believe that ultimate healing is found in death when people are restored to their perfect original created intention in the prime of their life.

I wish we would stop thinking the play offs is guaranteed.

We are in a battle with Middlesbrough/Sheff U, Blackburn, Millwall, Watford, Norwich, Coventry, WBA.

All decent sides on their day sides and capable of putting together a decent run together.

Play offs would be a huge achievement so let's focus on that rather than worrying about what place we would prefer.

I've a feeling that Luton will meet Millwall in the play off. Now that will be a proper day out.

Why can we not make up the 3 point deficit to Middlesbrough, if they can catch Sheff U? If Sheff slip up properly, we've as good of a chance of catching them as Middlesbrough.

Coventry will be in the play offs, with us, Sheffield U plus another.
