U18s this weekend
Posted by PHS on 24/3/2023, 13:17:30
Maybe my grumpy old man persona is peeping over the parapet but, with a blank weekend for the first team, why can I not find anything on the OS publicising the U18s playing at home to Plymouth U18s?
1pm kick off tomorrow (Saturday) but cannot find info of the venue: Brache or KR?
I only found out about the match because Plymouth had publicised it on their own OS.
Yes, I know it's not the end of the world (Putin's seeing to that!) and both clubs may have an agreement to play the game behind closed doors. However, Adrian Forbes mentioned about how beneficial it was for the youngsters to play in front of a crowd after the Beds Senior Cup Final.
Possible opportunity missed to get some spectators to turn up.
I apologise if there has been anything on the site to push this game (other than the fixture being shown on the U18s listing).

I stopped full time working a few years ago and one of my plans was to get along to some home develope/youth games. It seems the majority of those games are played behind closed doors, not sure why. So I gave up looking for fixtures.
Not sure but possibly to keep scouts from other clubs away ? Also suspect the moment you advertise to attend pretty sure you need club staff / paramedics to to attend hence increase cost ?

Also it might be a safeguarding thing, as they're under 18.
