    Dunstable

    hi all

I grew up there but haven't lived in Dunstable since the early 90's. What's it like to live in these days? Always seems quite nice when I go through, or go out for a beer, and often think it gets some unnecessary criticism.

junior 2 is considering a flat up there, up towards the Hartwell dealership area.

    GO

    Cheers

As with everywhere there are crappy areas, I've always thought that once I close my front door what's going on out there in the main doesn't affect me. (though those poor lads that were murdered a few months back a couple of hundred yards from the house was a bit concerning)

Home is what you make it :-)

Oldhill side is OK isn't it? He would be that side of the A5, near Half Moon Lane

As you know, I live in Houghton, and do a fair bit of shopping in Dunstable, although the small local shops are mostly gone (as in most of the country). Good bus service if he needs it.
If "towards the Hartwell dealership" is Downside, it might be a bit rough.
Like most places, good and bad.

Sod all night life but a couple of decent small pubs just off the town centre

I live in Luton but spent a lot of time in Dunstable. Its the same as any other place and has its good and bad points, i cant see any reason not to move there - especially if the price is right.

Past tense? Sounds like you are not there now, Dunstable is changing so fast, building everywhere, I’m hoping to leave eventually, either side of Dunstable, Markyate, Hockliffe would be a better investment
