Exactly. Let's just hope and pray that when Harry has finished his Barnsley loan spell we pull him back here and not let him go to to tykes permanently. Or any other club for that matter.

He's had a raw deal at KR, never been given a real opportunity to prove his worth. Just hope we don't offer silly money to keep Horvath when we already have Isted on our payroll.

he wont be here next season...

Not sure why people don`t get that - the statement when he left seems to make that pretty clear.

“We felt that Harry has given a lot to the club and it’s going to be difficult for us to give him that opportunity between the sticks,” added Edwards. “This gives him a chance to get out there and build a career, fight for his place at a really good club in Barnsley.

“We felt that it was the right move for Harry, and throughout the process, he’s been magnificent. He’s been brilliant around the group, a big member of the culture here and we’ll miss that. But he’s got to get his career going as well, and we wish him all the best up at Barnsley.”

That's one way of looking at things.
Another is that we have carefully nurtured a raw talent and he may well be ready to be our number 1 keeper next season thanks to development on loan at clubs lower down the pyramid.

                taking him back

                training him

                playing him

hes had a torrid time whilst never being the best keeper at the club*

Firstly, I have no problem with Horvath.
So this is only a theory.

Maybe Horvath plays every league game (If fit) as per a possible agreement with Forest that he does so, an agreement we can't get out of?

With that a possibility, and with Shea returning to fitness, we maybe wanted Istead to get in some valuable game time in readiness for next season?

It's the Barnsley keeper coming here on a permanent that I can't fathom. Unless it's just to ensure we have 3 keepers?

Whether we think Horvarth is good or not, he has kept a high number of clean sheets in the Championship, possibly the most in this league any keeper has for us and we are still 8 games short of finishing the 46 game season

I would think that our coaching staff have a far better appreciation of which players to release and
which to retain than our fans.

In general I am impressed with our scouting/coaching set up. Not quite so sure about the keeper department though.

Partly (particularly since the guy who went to Huddersfield was available on a free), but also the treatment of Isted. Coming back on a long train journey a few years ago I overheard a fairly drunk Luton director say“the trouble is our best keeper is on loan at f—-ing Wealdstone”.

That's why he is director and not the manager, if he was that good he wouldn't have been at Wealdstone would he.

Id guess Isted has absolutely no future at Luton; probably never did have really.
