        It was because the ref didn't even bother to check var for at least one penalty to Fulham in the 1st half.

            Yes really. That was the reason why Fulham were up in arms about. Whether or not you agree with it not is a different matter but I've read several reports citing the lack of use of var on their penalty appeals to be the reason they were so upset about var being used against them.
