Why do players takes such meticulous care these days to place the ball as far as possible away from the little quadrant line as they can get away with.
What on earth is the point. Has one of those backroom statwanker analysts come up with some daft theory that it's more likely to lead to a goal .
Or is it a case of ",ooh look.at me i've managed to get one over the officials"

Are you referring to to Man Ure corner where lino told him to move ball. He moved it 2mm!! But to your point, there does feel like a challenge to place outside the corner section. And does it really make a difference bang in the middle or the very extreme boundary.

You have obviously never taken a corner,you put the ball on the perimeter of the quadrant much less chance of catching your foot on the corner flag pole.
