I know that nothing can change the result now but I seem to remember that for a time a while ago that any player found retrospectively of "simulation" would get a card.Having watched the incident several times, it was a definite dive. But I guess nothing will happen to the cheat. Two other things to consider: it was the ref's first game at this level, probably not the best match and stadium to introduce him to Championship football. His initial reaction was to turn away but then clearly did not have the bottle to over-rule his senior colleague on the line. Secondly, would the two of them given the same decision if a Luton player had gone down in exactly the same circumstances ? Again, I think not, sadly.

the "get out" is arm holding. But 6 of one half a dozen of the other/But if you are lookingto justify a decision there is enough of a gray area. Before he threw himself to the ground after being hit by a sniper.
If they retrospectively give simulation, its admitting the ref ####ed up. So won`t happen. And yes never given the other end. sunderland commentators alluded to that as well. I thought there was a conspiracy in the -30 season as refs were apparently instructed "dont feel sorry for them". This season I think its just a case of some shit decisions, plus the way we defend is somewhat shithousing. Lockyer has learnt the dark arts from DAnny Hylton. And developed them. Which is superb.

If you look at the refs position. He's right in line behind it , so I'd imagine he's only seen a bit of arm contact and then the player go down ,and he's decided there must have been contact. so he's guessed basically.
