    The reality on Horvath

Posted by Earls on 18/3/2023, 19:09:56

Penalties and the mad Millwall game apart, Horvath hasn’t conceded a league goal in over two months (the 3-2 WBA defeat.)
Anyone griping about his record on penalties, especially when today’s penalty was so bent, is a clot.

Not seen today's penalty but from memory, I have yet to see Horvath go the right way in an attempt to save one.

“Not seen today’s penalty” makes the rest of your post pointless.

Having seen it he went the opposite way again.

I’m no expert on penalties but even I could see the player threw himself to the and the ref had to to the linesman as he was gutless to make the correct decision to book their for simulation?

Are you claiming he is the major reason for that record or just played a his part in it?

Fancy hoping that your goal keeper makes some saves, including the odd penalty

GK plays a key role in that sort of record.

Harsh to say we've performed like that at the back in spite of Horvath

I’m saying “What more do you want him to do?” The defence has been outstanding since WBA, and that includes Horvath. Fancy questioning him after today…

I don't think people are questioning him... he is an okay championship keeper..... what more do I want him to do, save or get close to saving a pen.

In this great run of conceding very few goals has he been very busy or pulled off any worldies?

Thought he made some excellent saves today, decent distribution, and caught well from crosses. Decent performance today.

Thought he watched the shot that hit the bar very well!!!

He is an OK keeper being very well protected by his defence. They all make mistakes but his double attempts at catching the ball sometimes causes concern.

Solid and reliable and plays his part in our team make up, good reliable keeper.
Funny I remember stoke fans saying John Farmer was a better penalty saver than Gordon Banks, just saying.

A darn sight better than the Sunderland keeper today!
