    Prem closed shop

Just seen the clip from MotD of Wright slating Jones for throwing people under the bus, of course that is a fair enough comment but the tone of how lucky he is to have his chance in the prem having only achieved things at the lower level is a dangerous reminder of just how closed shop the prem has become, confirmed by wright adding ‘so don’t come here throwing people under the bus’ Football is OUR game mr wright it’s doesn’t belong to the prem! My god I’d love us to get promoted to upset their horrible world, but if we do I hope mr sweet and co have a very good legal team on standby as I expect the powers that be will do everything possible to keep us out

Sad to hear from Ian Wright as he worked his way up himself from non-league...

If its a closed shop, how did Jones get the Southampton job?

I suspect most Southampton fans are wondering that at the moment as well

We would get hammered if we reached 'the promised land'. All pre season talk would be about expected record low points and lack of quality mercenary signings.

All season the experts would go on about our crowds and state that every game was more like an FA cup tie.

              This ^^^

Record levels of patronisation, we'd be treated like some sort of Sunday league team that'd won a competition in a tabloid newspaper.

I think we could all cope with the patronising for one season.

Take the money and run, and make visiting KR as horrible an experience as possible for the spoilt brats in the process.

I would love it, I wouldn't care if we did end up with the lowest points ever if it paid for PC

I think we'd surprise a lot of people if we went up. I don't believe the gap between the bottom 7 or 8 in the Prem to the top of the C'ship is massive nor insurmountable. It's a fairly hefty gap but it's possible to bridge it

We'd give it a go and we might fall just short. But I think we'd defy expectations, which is what we've been used to doing for 3 years now

              Hard to argue.

For me footy is so sanitised that I struggle to even bother watching it these days.

If Luton did not need the money the premier brings I doubt I’d even want to be in it.

              How tragic.

I agree I cannot watch the Premiershite rubbish football (and I do subscribe to Sky sports). The Championship is great to watch though.

The money that we would receive is great but I doubt we would survive more than a season, but it would help us a lot financially.
