Just came across this article. It's certainly escaped me but is the photo of his first win at Stoke against Leeds, common knowledge ? Good grief

I think it’s absolute horseshit to suggest he had it framed and put up.

Funny to read how rattled a supporter of “mighty” Leeds is by Jones

Did he really have that picture framed and hung in the tunnel. I’m pretty sure he didn’t, someone in the club would’ve had the idea and done it. If he did he’s had an even bigger ego than I thought.
I am feeling quite sorry for him and our ex staff that followed. However as someone pointed out yesterday I’d probably not be too impressed if RE had lost 8 out of 9 games in charge of us and then publicly blamed the players

Either way it ended up in a skip.

It is down to the players tho, isn't it?

I thought with some of their performances that he was making progress. Their defending against Brentford was extremely poor though, the players definitely can't escape some of the blame but equally neither can Jones.

Evidently once he'd switched to four at the back like the players wanted.

As far as I can make out at a cursory inspection and going by reports, that is.

                Cheers, Jim

Yes it sounds as though he let the players convince him how they should be playing to an extent. And it backfired on the lot of them.

As we were saying on here yesterday he desperately needs a result or two in the games coming up. Wolves would have been ideal until Liverpool decided to hand them three goals last weekend.

Which, kind of, lends a degree of vindication to his comments on Saturday. Most of the world seem to think he's gone bonkers but if his point is that he allowed the players to dictate how they played and look what's happened then maybe he does have one.

However, a better Manager or even someone with a degree of self-awareness would appreciate that they need to find a way of playing that the players will buy into, rather than trying to impose one upon them and then throwing them under the bus when they don't.

                      Cheers, Jim

Yes, it can work well for leaders in general showing they can listen and adapt to what the team wants but he hasn't done himself any favours with that conference.

You can see how the numpties have managed to misinterpret half of what he said but that's what was always going to happen. The other half he shouldn't have said .

Wolves have a competent manager now.

Best Jones can hope for is a draw imo.

Southampton fans will make the atmosphere so toxic he could turn up with PSGs squad and struggle to get a result

Probably because PSG's squad would ignore him like Southampton's appear to have.
