They will just throw millions in legal fees at it and the FA and Premier League will back down.

      UEFA did the same.

I think it was the court of arbitration for sport that backed down for them, according to that article.

A 9 million fine . . . sounds a lot but for City . . . they must have been laughing their socks off about it afterwards.

I don't think UEFA backed down, City only won that because of a timing issue, CAS determined UEFA were essentially out of time to take action.

          I can't stand City.

No doubt their fans will all be crying about it and pretending they're being targeted.

The same fans who can't even fill their stadium for a Champions League game.

Having a rich owner means nothing. It could have happened to anyone. Their success isn't organic, it's like that binman who won the lottery and wasted it all on cocaine and hookers. Horrible club.

According to the Mail report the charges only apply up to and including the 2017-18 season. So, the 2019 FA Cup will be alright, I'm sure

and the charges in total date from the 2009/10 season to this season.

Not that it matters, it'll take years to resolve by the end of which they'll end up with a paltry fine, which the oil state owners can pay out of their petty cash

What are you reading? I can only see this:

Details of the Premier League Rules that the Man City is alleged to have breached are as follows:

                                1. In respect of each of Seasons 2009/10 to 2017/18 inclusive, the Premier League Rules applicable in those seasons that required provision by a member club to the Premier League, in the utmost good faith, of accurate financial information that gives a true and fair view of the club’s financial position, in particular with respect to its revenue (including sponsorship revenue), its related parties and its operating costs, namely:

Have I missed something in that report?

That looks inaccurate unless there are some more minor charges that takes us up to today

The bit I quoted was something the Mail used directly from the Premier League

The BBC only goes with up to and inc 2017-18 too

It’s the charge of noncooperation with a Premier League investigation which covers from 2018 to present.

Just re-read it and I've seen that

Don't think they'll be taking away titles and trophies for that infringement. Not that they'll be doing that anyway

It seems the really 'serious' stuff covers up to the summer of 2018
