      "So it's all our fault"

It kind of is, from what I can gather.

If we'd been a more prestigious club, or a foreign one, then Jones would've been cut a lot more slack, but clearly the average Southampton supporter feels humiliated that they've ended up with a manager from an #teamlikeluton

So whether Jones goes or not, we beat Grimsby. Then go down to Southampton with both sets of fans singing

"It's all our/your fault, it's all our/your fault" all bloody night long

you know what. That's kind of how I feel about it. I wasn't sorry to see him go because I had a feeling he was coming towards a bit of a sort of end at Luton anyway , but this sort of entitled fans view. Pep wasn't going to take the job !!

Bit of a lull work-wise so had a quick look at the Soton message board just now

And, speaking of them being entitled, what is one of the first messages I read - something about Jones being good at keeping "plucky little Luton in the C'ship" before also going on to patronise Stoke. Who the fukk do they think they are? Because what I think they and Reading are the ultimate examples of footballing dull

I agree that, in hindsight, Soton's approach for Jones was a blessing in disguise. Things were a bit 'off' this season and things had probably run their course. It didn't bother me, at all, that he left

I'll have a little chuckle if they go down

I didn't get too wrapped up the "will he/won't he?" back in November because I was genuinely pretty ambivalent about it - with the proviso of course that there was always the element of uncertainty about who'd be next - I just wanted it resolving quickly one way or another.

                  Yeah, same here

The only thing I was concerned about was getting the next managerial appointment right, as there are always obvious risks when a football club has to do that

Soton fan calling him Sunday League Jones now. We are 4 places below them in the pyramid. And were only about 10 places below them when Jones left

                  Totally deluded

Exactly - between them and the players it looks like a massive outbreak of BillyBigBollocksitis down there.

Hindsight and all that, but things did feel a bit stale this season so it probably will prove to be a blessing for us.

Though a couple of defeats between now and the end of the season might change a few views

Football has changed so much in the last 10 years. I blame twitter. Fans have become so unbelievably entitled and have to give their hot take, no matter how ridiculous it is. In fact, the more outraged, the better.

The Luton fans who have been rewriting history by saying "We'll never know if a different manager could've kept us up, when we were absolute dead certs to go down, and conveniently ignoring the fact that RE is seen as a snake by all the FGR fans, are just as bad.

I'm totally bemused by the negativity towards NJ from Luton fans. I got it and felt the same when he left for Stoke, but he more than righted that wrong, and then got a potentially once in a lifetime opportunity to manage in the prem at a club that would pay him a hefty wedge. I'm sure they'll be spouting the same shite when Edwards leaves one day. Bunch of children.

I felt a bit that way when Rob Edwards joined. Good record at Forest Green not so good at W*tford. You have to give them time to get their plans out there. Seems he’s got the same problem he had at Stoke. Senior players don’t respect him so don’t carry out his orders.
