Interesting that we had 9 draws in our first 21 games this season (NJ) but have had none in the last 8 (RE). Make of that what you will.

Listed to NJ post match interview on 5 live on way back yesterday & I think he is losing it , rambling on blaming himself talking about his accolades etc. A massive part of the recent rise of this club yes but actually think he was starting to hold us back , everything was about him. Let’s face it , we would have an absolutely hated him as an opposition manager for his erratic over emotional childlike behaviour.

As much as I appreciate NJ for all he has done for our club, I am starting to agree that the change did come at a good time for us. We had become one-dimensional, teams had sussed us out and players like Adebayo clearly weren’t benefitting from that.
You only have to look at how much confidence and swagger the players are showing to see the change has done us good.

More than a few on here said that at the start of the season.
As I have stated many time (because I know it to be true) and validated on the Saints forum numerous times.
Sports Republic, the operational aspect of Southampton FC, had started their negotiations with Jones during the summer.
I can think that Jones weird team selections and substitutions in early months were influenced by this and he was simply biding his time waiting for Ralph H to be sacked. He had lost focus and was more interested in building himself up ready for his big move.
I just wish he had walked in the summer and most would have probably wished him well and thanked him.

I am very happy the way it turned out, we were paid 4 million compensation, have a better more reasonable management team in place and they are getting a better tune out of players. I watched the video of the lads training the other day and noted how happy they were and it reflects on their performances. I appreciate Jones did us proud but imagine if those draws were wins, we would be out of sight at the top.
