It was excellent in almost all respects.
Hanging on to a lead at home for that long will do the team a world of good. Not that there was a lot of "hanging on" to be fair.
I guess some of those who seem incapable of spotting good play by Pelly will have been a little disappointed.

Agreed. Saw a Stoke 1908 mate after the game who said we were in control the whole game. Stoke 1908 had no strikers and no plan after we went 1 up. Their subs made them weaker. Liked the Nakamba song and that he was pointing and organising as soon as he stepped onto the pitch.

I thought we closed the game out extremely well. I was expecting it to be a real ‘backs to the wall’ operation in the last 10 minutes or so but thought us the more likely team to score.

Against a team I’ll add who we’ve traditionally not done too well against - home or away.
The early goal helped. It meant there was no time wasting or 10 men behind the ball tactics.

I was expecting 'the alamo' in the last 10-15 but we saw it out pretty comfortably

Yes, they did have a couple of periods of pressure, some corners but crucially they barely had a sniff in the last 10-15 minutes. Very professional.
