Just to clear things up - the "surprise" outward transfer of Ed McJannet and then the subsequent departure of Paul Hart a day or two later, aren't connected in any way.

Definitely not. I was aware of Paul Hart's imminent departure two or three weeks ago. The article on the OS states that he had worked a notice period.

Never even crossed my mind until I saw this post. Unless I`ve missed something below (haven`t checked).
As for McJannet and Italian clubs signing young Irish prospects. Saw something that makes sense...signing due to Brexit (so young Irish talent doesnt count towards overseas quotas , whereas English talent now does (and welsh/scottish if you find any that we haven`t already!).
Expanding on that a lot of Irish talent will be in the English league structure and developed alongside (and the youth structures are improving). So it makes sense..if you get a talent developed in a good environment and they count as EU its a decent strategy.
