Surely it's silly to have games on deadline day, clubs who are playing will have staff pre-occupied with the matcha and those that aren't can focus their full attention on transfers?

Managers probably don't have much to do with final details of transfers after they have said they want a player

Maybe not but I still think it's a bit unhelpful -as I stated yesterday evening at some point on here. It's not just the final details but it must be a source of great distraction, especially when trying to focus in the game knowing full well that there are deals being tried to work out which could affect things like substitutions, protecting current players from injury - giving them less, or more game time etc.

Maybe the club has the systems and staff in place to not allow it to be a distraction.
