Shocking ,never blew up once for obvious foul when he was 2 yards away

What can u expect for a fee of £600 a game? Admittedly you get free entrance and tea at halftime but would u do it for that and be I suited by angry fans non stop?

Played a great advantage when Cody was being fouled in first half in front of the Oak Road. Fine lines between blowing up too much and letting play go. Thought some of the fouls given against Morris for backing in were 50/50s, could have let play go, but then sometimes it gets out of hand. Sometimes a bit of old fashioned refereeing in letting the players battle adds to the game.

On one of them, I assume that he thought that Morris had pulled the defender's arms around his stomach as the defender was clearly holding him.

Yes it was a great advantage ,,,, any idea why he didn't go back a book the guy that committed the foul afterwards ....
Said earlier this warning players for pulling and shoving at corners before the ball is kicked is ludicrous.... its foul play... if you apply the logic of the ball not being in play therefore its only a warning that would mean you could punch somebody as long the ball is out of play and it would only be a warning

A player can get a red card for clocking someone after the end of a game

Or throwing the ball into an opponents face at the end of the game. Could’ve easily been red so don’t complain too loudly

You're probably right but how ridiculous that throwing a football at a footballer might lead to such a sanction.

Then again, their no.5 worked hard towards getting himself sent off as well.

but as the ball wasn't in play ..... it may have been in face but not play

What really bugs me about this is that the officials will make a very ostentatious show of warning everyone, then about 95% of the time will give the defending team a free-kick as soon as the corner is taken.

In general to my totally unbiased eyes I felt he allowed their players far more licence to be physical than ours.

But to be fair, you're also right that two or three times he did try and play a good advantage.

Genuinely think he was one of those kind of refs that if we had scored with the advantage they would have gone back for the foul.

I sit next to a qualified ref and he mentioned that the law has changed. If you play the advantage and don't take it back for the freekick then it's not generally a booking any more.

I guess if the advantage is genuine then you take away the element of denying a promising attack which is one of the criteria for possibly issuing a yellow.

Agree - however for me he should have gone back and booked the player …it wasn’t his first foul and very deliberate.

Let a few clear handballs go too.

Very few yellows in a physical battle. Morris was lucky not to get a second at full time
