announced they are receiving €121m for Fernandez

Chelsea have announced he’s got an 8.5 year contract.

    Strangely the world hasn’t ended.

    Funny old game saint.

The world hasn't ended with us not announcing terms and conditions of transfers either

I actually agree with you that a bit of extra transparency would be ideal but I ain't that fussed. It might be good for you to let it go as this issue is obviously eating away at you

There’s a loop hole in financial fair play regs with long contracts, apparently.

I understand that a change is coming in so that, however long the contract is, the fee can't be written off over more than five years for fair play calculations.

Asset amortization. Which is probably legal.

Whereas what Juventus did with player swap values is not legal.

I understand that within ffp, the fee is divided by the length of the contract for accounting purposes.

For example a £50m fee over a 5 year contract “only” amounts to £10m a season in expenditure.

It will end in tears, just a matter of when.
