Wish him well, he’s done a job for us but don’t understand the meltdown about his leaving. Do we know how much the fee is? His scoring record over his career at Luton alone and then when including his other league matches are remarkably similar. 1 goal every 6.17 appearances. Stats suggest last season May have been an outlier. Now i know he brings other attributes and his scoring record alone is a blunt instrument but he’s not exactly prolific. I can remember many times when we have sold real irreplaceable superstars of the team. This is not one of those occasions. I think it may have been David Pleat who said one of the skills of being a manager is making sure a players legs go on someone else’s pitch, not yours.

I’m sad to see him go, he had some great games for us, and was exciting to bring him on with half an hour to go, Fred stepped into that position very well last night, I don’t know anything about Taylor but I trust big Micks judgement.

I suspect a lot of the disappointment is down to the fact he’s been with us a while and has been through all the ups with us.
I mean, he’s not that great a player. He only learned to finish one-on-ones about 18 months ago. And there’s a reason he isn’t disappearing off to any of our promotion challengers after all.
Sad to see him go for sure, but the guy isn’t even in our natural starting 11. It’s not exactly the apocalyptic disaster that everyone’s making it out to be.
