FFS how do the Germans sleep at night, they were evil, beyond any other in the history of mankind.

Those who played a part always had someone above them that they could blame - "only obeying orders" is a cliche but that's how they were.

Most Germans I met in my 3 years working there were very nice people, they have no trouble sleeping because it has fukc all to do with them

I sleep ok.
As others have said below we live in different times the least violent times in human history, but we should never take that for granted.
It has been proven time and again that when mass killing starts people who seem decent join in, many out of fear of getting the same treatment.

We have been brainwashed into believing forgiveness is the mature and rational response to all things evil. F$&k that! My grandad spent 4 years as German POW and his stories of German brutality are unforgivable, you can think what you want but I will never forgive Germans for what they did. My daughter and her generation my chose to… that’s their choice. Many Germans will now claim they too were victims. Give me a f$&ing break. We’re all entitled to our opinions.

So, you put blame WW2 atrocities on to any German that was born, say, from 1940 onwards even though they bear absolutely no responsibility for it?

Similar to what others have said, if that's the case, then British people living today should never be forgiven for slavery and the imperialism of Britain's past. Do you agree with that because I don't?

And what about those Brits, who through work, circumstance or being based there (as I was) - assimilated with the locals and have half British, half German kids (I can think of two former posters on here who have) Are those kids just as guilty too?

WW2 ended 78 years ago. If you take anyone at the youngest fighting age of 16 that would make them 94 now. People who were not involved can sleep fine i would imagine. And so they should. They are not responsible.

ask a Russian, i have, and they believe the Germans are capable of repeating history. also Germany does rule Europe now. why were they so opposed of bexit. don't get me wrong i admire them for their efficiency but i don't trust them. what they did should never be forgotten or forgiven.

Everyone is capable of horrendous deeds. The holocaust was awful, but it's annoying when I hear it said that such acts must never be allowed to happen again. But they have.

The former Yugoslavia, where peoples of different races and religions lived happily together for decades under Tito. When he died all he'll let lose, neighbour killing neighbour, long time friends killing long time friends.

Srebrenica was a repeat of the holocaust, another terrible example of ethnic cleansing, yet the World powers did nothing to stop it, just as the allies did nothing to stop the gas chambers operating at Auschwitz. They could have carpet bombed the place, they knew what was going on there.

Yes, thousands of inmates would have been killed, along with nazis, but the inmates were being killed anyway, if not by gassing by being worked and starved to death. Bombing Auschwitz would have destroyed the place and saved many others who were later murdered there. But the allies refused to do it.

Then of course we had Rwanda, more ethnic cleansing.

It's awful, all of it.
