Watched Live at the Hollywood Bowl on Sky Arts last night fantastic.
Must admit forgot much about Jeff over the years but now realize what a brilliant guitarist he was. RIP.

        It's a great performance isn't it.

I saw him a number of times both solo and with Beck Bogert and Appice* (Swansea Top Rank 1973 - wow!). Apart from one gig where he seemed over-technical and lacked his usual raw excitement he was always brilliant. Though I have a personal bug bear about him never playing Yardbirds material but insisting on that bloody instrumental Day in the Life.

You saw the Yardbirds I believe? Was it their last ever gig (which was in Luton) or previous to that?

*Bogert and Appice from Vanilla Fudge - still play that classic album!

I didn't see their last gig in Luton, saw them at the Marque mid 60's.
Strangely enough saw a Yardbirds band at Diss Corn Exchange a few years ago only original member Chris Dreja, they gave an excellent tight performance.
In the Hollywood Bowl performance he did start with quite a few Yardbirds songs.......but no Hi Ho Silver Lining!😁

I'll have to watch the whole thing then, just caught the end. Yardbirds at the Marquee, double envious! I did go there with D though.
