There has been a lot of negative posts about Dan Potts which I’ve never really taken on board but having taken a closer look yesterday he appeared to be in Dreamland with both his positional play and anticipation
Whilst Grimsby had nothing really to lose yesterday nobody can deny they deserved to get a replay and setting aside his time wasting their Goalkeeper was excellent

For all the Potts slating on here

No doubt at fault for not challenging aerially for the first goal, but can’t help think Lockyer (who I think is great in a centre of a 3) was caught in no man’s land - neither got tight enough to his man, then left Osho having to cover across (where TL should have been)

I thought Lockyer was at fault for their second goal, he followed his attacker out of the back line and left the hole for them to exploit.

Agreed - not saying Potts couldn’t have reacted better, but Lockyer sticking inbetween Potts and Osho I don’t think the attacker gets a shot away. Decided to step out at the wrong time I think.

I'm not really sure they did exactly but fair play to them they defended their box really well and yes their keeper showed great handling.

To me he has not been as good since his njury at Blackpool, I wonder if he’s not fully recovered but playing on?

Possibly. But if that’s the case, with Bradley out long term and Burke seemingly not fully fit we desperately need to sign at least one centre back!!!

Though he wasnt that great yesterday he’s been excellent all season , I think give Potts a bit of slack

He’s had bad games before yesterday - 3-3 v Coventry he was worse than v Grimsby. Cost us the goal v QPR and a few others this season.
Potts has improved at LCB, for sure. But he’s not the consistent rock some are claiming: that’d be Lockyer.
He’s absolutely played his part this season, but he’s always got a mistake in him.
One of the positives of yesterday was Edwards subbing Potts - it shows even the captain could be subbed if having a bad game.

Been a decent player for us has potts but he isn't a centre half. He is a traditional left back. Need a left footed centre half bringing in really and they are like gold dust.

He was atrocious at left-back, though. (Fwiw, I think Potts’ attacking play has improved since switching to CB.)
I do think LCB is the weak link in the squad.
