FAO People Excusing the Poor Atmosphere

    Posted by K on 28/1/2023, 21:26:49

I know we have been poor results wise at home but the atmosphere is definitely worse this season. 2 up against WBA the other week and it was pretty quiet. We've finally gentrified the Kenny. It's taken a while but we are the poorer for it.

      1500 empty seats didn’t help. £14 a ticket Ffs.
      Armchair/Glory hunting w4nkers.

Well done to the loyal fans who went today. Quiet or loud.

How many songs did you start today?

The standard stupid response every time this comes up.

If "starting" a song was the problem with atmosphere, then there would be no problem. It's the joining in, that is lacking.
Why is that? Maybe season tickets are the problem. A lot of teams fans are more vocal away. The reason is, that is a generally younger and committed group. Season ticket holders tend to be older and more habit supporters.
Huge generalisation maybe. But find another reason.

Home form? Without wanting to state the obvious home support tends to be louder when winning, but when this season we do take the lead and due to our tendency to throw away leads the crowd seems to get very nervous and their is almost a sense of dread and tension that envelopes the ground.

So confiscate season tickets from those older fans that don't sing?

No, that's not what I said. Read my thoughts again. It was merely a suggestion.
Like I said, find another reason. Am not having a dig.

Well I'm a season ticket holder and I join in most of the songs that are actually supporting the team.

So you're one of those song snobs then. No doubt pull your face and moan when the younger lads are having a laugh singing a daft song about Elton John or similar.

Song snobs? Have a word with yourself.

I don't sing the Elton John one no, it might have been a laugh for them at first but that was a long time ago.

If they want to sing it that's their choice and I don't mind but if you want more people joining in to create an atmosphere it's not a song to make that happen. That should be clear to anyone with an ounce of sense.

That last sentence shows you are indeed a song snob.
If you haven't stood with the best part of a thousand others singing about Elton John, are you even Luton?

That's pretty pathetic. And how on earth does singing about Elton John spur the team on?

Are you serious? ####ing hell, that is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen on here. Some people like those songs, some don't. That's the way it is. But to question whether we're Luton? Go #### yourself.

By that logic, does that also make "you" a song snob?🤔

No. I join in with all the songs. Doesn't matter what it is, if it's creating noise that should give the lads on the pitch a spur.
