    Fao Hatters/home form

Crikey, you were dead right about how often we give up a lead at home. Didn't realise quite how bad it was until I looked at the stats.

Of 13 home games this season (including Cup games) we have led on eight of them but ended up either losing or drawing.

Of the league games we have dropped 14 points from a winning position at home.

Bit puzzling as we were previiusly very good at grinding out 1 nils at home.

what I struggle to grasp is how good the same players are at holding onto a lead away from home? Weirdly it seems to be continuing under Edwards as well.

It's bloody difficult to work out why. Best I could come up with was my response to MK Hat's post.

Probably a load of bollocks but it does seem to becoming a bit more psychological.

sort of makes sense to a degree, seeing as it seems to be happening under two different manager's

I know and I've definitely seen most of them too! It's puzzling as we were so good last year. I really think it has to be a combination of better opposition and our less effective tactics. We were so good without the ball last season I never feared we'd give upma lead. This season it's a different story with lots of sloppy goals. We played error free in games last season and reaped the benefits. I think unless we turn it round it'll cost us for playoffs.

Away from home we get a lead and defend like our lives depend upon it. We then can hit sides on the counter-attack, QPR being an example.

At home we seem to be caught between two stools after taking a lead. Neither going all out to get the second or defending what we have.

This in turn makes the fans nervous that filters out onto the pitch. The atmosphere at home this season has not been great and that must have an impact on our performances.

Sure it's more nuanced than that but that's as good as I can come up with.

Blackburn are the only team in the championship who have lost more points than us after being infront .

Blackburn are in strange position. Only ONE draw !
Top six, yet lost as many as Blackpool, who are second bottom.
            The championship eh?

The answer is logical. The difference this year is Potts is playing where Naismith was.
