    Macaulay Langstaff

Posted by LTFC on 27/1/2023, 22:48:58

Been told some crap that’s unlikely to be true but here we go anyway…

Apparently we are in for Macauley Langstaff from Notts County. The fees for Bree and Cornick will more than cover the £1m + add ons

Adrian Forbes and County boss Luke Williams remain good friends following their time in the Norwich City academy together. This has helped with the communication between the clubs.

I imagine Langstaff has other Championship offers for more £££ but we do have a good track record of developing players? Would certainly explain the clubs decision to move a couple of players on.

Linked with a few championship clubs it seems. But a million + for a non league striker seems a bit high (It will be undisclosed anyway if there is any truth init)

Massive leap from Div 5 to Div 2

And he's stopped scoring for Notts too. Not for me Clive

Also, see his 25 so not sure if that much scope to develop?

Yeah, if he was 21 or 22 it might be worth a gamble but not now

                Jamie Vardy?

Clearly not a flash in the pan, knocked them in for fun for Gateshead the prior season

Is Langstaff a player with electric pace like Vardy?

If so, then maybe. But I thought he is more of a target man type. And that type won't make a step up of 3 divisions in one move

I thought Vardy was bang average against us tbh.

You’re joking. He tore us apart at Kenilworth road. Picked the ball up in his half went round two and hit the bar from 30yards at one point and scored aswell

Blimey yes, I remember seeing a couple of the runs he made early on in the game, he was leaving defenders for dead, had Fleetwood had more players of his level to pick him out it would have been genuinely frightening.

Agreed, he definitely tore us a new one. Best player at that level of football I’ve seen, by a country mile.

Thought he’d easily make the step up to championship, but fair play to him, he’s completely surpassed that too!

That’s my recollection too, he tore us a new one, probably one of the best performances by an away player at KR during the non league days.

I try and blank out most of the non-league years from my memory, apart from the promotion year, so maybe I'm mis-remembering

the thing i remember about the non-league days, all th away games i went to, we were treated well by the stewards and the police and shown a bit of respect. Once we were promoted back to league 2, the poor experiences at the hands of the stewards and police returned, not all away games but some.
