Cornick - Travelling to Bristol Today
Posted by JFH on 27/1/2023, 9:55:24
Just heard from somebody that would 100% know that he's travelling to Bristol today to agree terms and complete a medical.
Such a shame and a questionable career move as of now, but the contract will obviously set him up for life.
£300k the fee, so nominal.
I'll give him a decent reception when he comes to the Kenny later on in the season, same for Naismith.
I hate Bristol City and their sense of entitlement. How many dreams have they sold to our ex players on the back of a wage increase? Hinds, Bakinson, Naismith and now possibly Cornick. I'm not critical of the board but this is lunacy given the amount of deadwood we have out on loan who are unlikely to make the same impact as Cornick.
A footballers graveyard. The biggest under achievers in the EFL by a long chalk considering they are the biggest club by far in that area. All they offer is money which is great for players looking for a payday, Kal being the obvious example. Nobody in his career has ever offered him that sort of money cos he not that good, except BC. Get McAtee in now if Harry goes, get him championship ready for next season.
True and if he was 22 or 23, I'd be questioning him wanting to go there
But, at 27, this could be his last chance for a pay rise that should set him up very comfortably for the future
Looking at the league table and our momentum, we are the better bet but we're still outsiders for promotion and he can't rely on that. Players get to an age and a stage in their careers where money is more important than the potential for glory. And who can blame them
They have done pretty much nothing over their entire history and have been fortunate enough to be bought by some bloke who seems intent on losing his fortune on them by overpaying players. And they see themselves as some kind of sleeping giant. They're a solid, medium-sized club. No tiddler but giants they are not
He's tidied up Ashton gate though. I'll give him that
Swansea look like entering the race for him, so let's hope so. I like HC but I believe he has gone as far as he can with us. Always promised so much and sometimes delivered but if he wants to.go fair enough.
