Drameh

Cardiff fans saying were getting a gem. They are gutted to lose him. I watched a youtube of him. Looks pacy and direct and probably an upgrade on Bree.

Cody Drameh was nothing short of outstanding when he joined us (Cardiff) on loan last season. So much so, that he was awarded Player Of The Season by the City fans, despite being a loan player, obviously. He's got pace to burn and loves getting forward down the right. Coupled with a great attitude (he wanted the move to Cardiff in order to develop his game) I can honestly say you have got yourself an excellent right-back.

Problem is he isn’t our player, so we will most likely love him like Cardiff fans do and then spend all summer seeing if we can get him. Price be around 3-4m at least and that’s it or will be part of Leeds plans next year.
As it stands we don’t have our own recognised RWB when Bree goes!

My point was more that we won’t be weaker this season. We’d need one in the summer either way. I can’t fathom why people in social media are critical of letting Bree go, citing his potential value. He’s never going to drop wages to sign a new contract. He’s only here now because Villa covered the shortfall on his wages to get him off their books, so his value is whatever we can get. Jones knows that.

I have a few concerns, as do other fans:
I do question what is better value, keeping Bree for the season and making a push for the play-offs knowing we will lose him in the summer or 500K (or whatever it is we get depending on Villa having a sell on clause) now.
Drameh looks like he has real potential but you could argue he is a just a 21 year old kid, with just 22 first team championship appearances, who hasnt really played since last april, it could be a huge ask for him to replace Bree.
Obviously he could be a great success but it could just as easily be argued we are weakening the team at a crucial time for the sake of less than 500K

Lets face it, we are a well run club, with a player we managed to get through the door that will be able to command a salary well in excess of what we will pay, when his contract runs out
I for one, are happy to take the view of the management that we are better off letting Bree go for a fee and then use this for a replacement, rather than getting nothing for him in the Summer. We are not a club than can let
Lets face it Stacey is out of contract in June, as is another supposed target Lincoln's Regan Poole

Everyone says this about Jack Stacey what if Jack Stacey doesn't want to come here?

I spoke to his dad Phil. Conversation
“Please tell me Luton are going for Jack in the summer”
“If only. No mention of it to Jack”

You would assume Stacey is on a relatively big wage at Bournemouth would he want to drop to 6K? Questionable.

"I for one, are happy to take the view of the management that we are better off letting Bree go for a fee and then use this for a replacement, rather than getting nothing for him in the Summer. We are not a club than can let" That is the decision for the club to make and balance out I guess and to be fair the board more times than not get these equations right, not that it really matters of course but i am really unsure about this, you can easily argue we are weakening the team at a crucial time for what is in "football reality" a pittance.
Hopefully Drameh can hit the ground running but he hasnt played first team football since april, he will have no match fitness, seriously how long will it take to get him up and going?

True enough, but looking at his ‘reel’ he looks an upgrade on Bree. We will have to wait and see, I guess.

He is a massive upgrade on Bree. We have pulled off a right coup in getting him
Re: Drameh
Posted by hatters on 26/1/2023, 12:36:30, in reply to "Re: Drameh"
and you know this for certain from 22 first team appearances at a struggling cardiff?
There is probably no doubting he does have more long term potential than Bree, but we need a RB now, seeing as he hasnt played a first team game since last april? How much can we expect from him straight away or even a month down the line?

Judging by the fact a lot of Leeds fans think he should be their first choice right back

I'm not even really disputing how good Drameh is, its obvious he has loads of potential but as I have had pointed out to me a couple of times already he has only played one game since April, he isn't going to be anywhere near match fit and all that, he is a young kid with limited first team experience being thrown into a championship promotion push at a critical time with all the pressures that, that comes with, hopefully it will be fine but its a huge ask.
