Now the asset stripping has started ( Bree )

All the Jones lovers, will you still be in love with him, now he’s Nicking our best players, what if he comes for Morris ? He’s looking for a striker, and how do you feel about his comments about us last night?

By "Jones lovers" do you mean grown-up people who aren't rending flesh, tearing out hair and generally shitting their heads off that a football manager has left a football club?

      Cheers, Jim

        That would be it.

It's amazing how precious some people get about player / manager loyalty when most show incredibly little to them as soon as they have a run of bad results or form.

Regardless of anything else, I'd be among those thinking that it might well seem, in years to come, that it was about the right time for him to go. From our point of view.

The football wasn't brilliant, the results (with the odd exception) were good enough to keep him in the black, credit -wise but it definitely looked a bit stale.

If Rob Edwards proves to be an upgrade, and we got a decent sum for Jones, fucking brilliant.

          Cheers, Jim

            Indeed.

And it could work out well for both sides. Though I only really care about one overly much.

The meltdown is painful. Good luck to Bree, it’s a short career.

I'm torn between hoping that nothing genuinely upsetting ever happens to them and thinking that living Rick Grimes life for a few seasons might do them a favour.

I had to google Rick Grimes. It’s a keyboard Tourette’s. A daily injustice = cornflakes being spat out. ‘Someone’s mugged me off, again’.

I don't know that we mean the same people. I'm talking about the central character of The Walking Dead, who I used to refer to as 'that poor, poor, man' because basically every terrible thing you could think of happened to him.

I'm by far an NJ lover but he is history now. If Bree wants to believe his bullshit and jump ship then fair play to him. He would have been fed the normal NJ spiel and decided it was worth the risk.

On a positive note, we took a player that wasn't getting a sniff of first team football at Villa and developed him so he could return to the Premiership as a far better player.

Ergo Naismith. A player that had lost his way and his career was drifting away. Again we developed him and he has gone and got a life changing contract at the twilight of his career.

Makes us an attractive proposition to potential recuits who see the long term picture rather than the immediate weekly wage.

That's the bigger picture, spot on. People forget Bree was out of our reach but 2020 got a deal done with Villa. Bree's expectation in that would've been career progression which he's now got. It's the only way we get the 'better' players because we can't compete financially with most other clubs in the Championship. Bree did a superb job for us, the 750k is a bonus, I wish him success at Saints.

The guy is out of contract this summer - it is Bree that wants to leave and not sign a contract with us.

Also you can’t asset strip unless the club accept the offers

He said in his interview before the EFL semi that he wouldn’t have had these chances at his previous club US, it was him that played a weakened team in most cup games so we were knocked out, Chelsea at home when we were winning he completely changed our attacking style that they were struggling with then they beat us.

Bree may have known a year ago Nathan was looking for a bigger role..May have also known Nathan would be back for him...so 20/20 would not of been able to sign him
