I always thought that Russian Air Power would be so great as to overwhelm the Ukrainian Land Forces.
Nothing has ever been mentioned as far as I can see, or was it all just a myth?

The Russian Air Force claimed they destroyed the Ukrainian Air Force on the ground as per their orders but the Ukrainians had dispersed when they got wind of the invasion. Poor intel and comms have dogged the Russians since 24/2/2022. The Ukrainian AA systems - controlled by the Air Force - remained intact. Plus the Ukraiinian pilots fought a great campaign in the early days all of which scared the Russians to death.
As for Russian missile (also artillery) power, it remains a mystery as to why they have wasted so much - 92% - on civilians/infrastructure.

If only the West would donate an amount of surplus Aircraft to Ukraine along the lines of the Tank approvals I’m sure it would go a long way to hitting the Ruskies even harder.
