    Bree going ?

Report that we have agreed a loan deal for a right back from Leeds.

Drameh is cup-tied, so can't play against Grimsby. Hopefully we can hang onto Bree until after that game.

Wouldn't be surprised but could it be cover at RWB? We don't really have any long term cover for that position.

Doubt Leeds would be interested in sending him out as cover, whole point of a loan for them would be developing him.

Supposedly he is out of contract in the summer and 3rd choice at leeds, so could be this is more about potentially moving him on.

ah yes you could be right, i may have misinterpreted a comment from an article stating that Leeds have to make a big decision as to whether to keep him or not this summer as a sign he is out of contract.

more likely to move on to a club he has had game time at though we are hardly going to sign him for 1st choice next season if we don't see him play for us in meantime.

I have no idea whether we are looking to sign him in the summer and dont we sign most of our first team players without seeing them play for our first team first? Though getting him in on a extended trial wouldnt be the worse idea, see him first hand on the training pitch, how he gets on with the rest of the squad etc. Like i said i would not be surprised at Bree leaving and i suspect he is but is strengthening a weak part of our squad also so out of the question?

Perhaps think that through, most players we sign haven't played for us.

Read back through the conversation EE was having when he made that comment. They were discussing whether he might be coming as backup for Bree rather than as a replacement. In that context, I think EE was saying that if he was only going to be a backup now, we probably wouldn't sign him to be first choice in the summer.

or rather than signing as cover, we sign him as direct competition for Bree, with the option of signing in the summer knowing bree is likely on his way.

He was Cardiff's player of the year last season and they are back in for him as well - along with other clubs.

Doubt either Leeds or the player would choose a club where he probably won't start to go to when there are other Championship clubs in for him where he will start.

doubt cardiff will b a favourable option seeing as they have no manager and are struggling

Who knows how we have sold the deal, but wouldnt be the first time a young player is sent to a club where he will have to compete for a starting spot rather than just walk into the team, its all seen as part of the overall development both mentally and technically.

Seems a little a strange that everyone is reading this as definately meaning Bree is leaving, perhaps it does but is it really that far stretched to think that a squad challenging for the championship play-offs cant have 2 very strong rb's in the squad, we have two very strong lb's why not rb's? We have strong competition for just about all positions except rb.

I also doubt either Leeds or the player would choose a club without a manager and without any idea of how he will be played.

yeah he was good that day but that was at LWB, he has looked poor when at RWB, him along with Doughty and Clarke even would all do at a push but would you want them there over a longer run of games?

If Bree does leave and like i said before it wouldn't surprise me if he does, and even if we bring this lad in from Leeds it still leaves us quite weak in the RB/RWB position. We never really replaced Kioso.
