    Elijah's goal on Saturday

Posted by crumpsall on 23/1/2023, 12:27:52

Just looked at the highlights and what they don't capture is just how perfectly he placed his shot - cleverly to the side of the goal, impossible for their keeper.

Absolutely brilliant to see him getting back to his best.

Reminiscent of Cornick's winner at Swansea last season

Reminiscent of the lightning speed breaks of the great German team of 2010-14, think back to the 4-1 win against England and how they tore us apart on the break. My goal of the season so far.

I think it's goal of the season so far. Back to front, wonderful build up and like you say, a fantastic finish.

Doughty's goal was also excellent, with the pass into Morris the lay-off return, Doughty continuing his run and a great finish. Once again it seems we are playing with a newfound freedom and it is bringing with it confidence.

a good pass from Osho into Elijah, a good flick pass to Cornick, a good run and pass from Cornick into the path of Elijah and a very good finish. Elijah over the last few weeks looks back to his best which coincides with the arrival of R.E.
