    Really?

As much as I like women’s football and the Euro win last year was fantastic. I will happily pay to watch women’s football….

But Everton men and women are surely two very separate entities.

Is this a new BBC nudge unit tactic to align the importance of the two?

No. I think your assertion that they’re “two very separate entities” is where you’re going wrong.

Okay let’s say we have a full time women’s team in the future.

If they win and the men’s team doesn’t will that “soften the blow”?

We will all probably take an interest and some may watch the matches but I can’t see how one team doing well improves the mood of a team heading for relegation, i.e., in Everton’s case.

If clubs were that interested then the debacle in Kingston wouldn’t have happened today. Warm pitches can be found in West London I believe.

Surely not a frozen pitch in Kingston ? Bloody hell, climate change at the gallop !

It’s probably more likely that the writer took the quote from the Everton Women manager and based the article on it (or more precisely, a sub editor wrote the headline based on the quote)
I certainly don’t see it as some sort of conspiracy to “nudge” anybody.
It’s probably not something to get your knickers in a twist about.

It's the same football club and community. But any old excuse to have a go at the BBC, eh?

Yes. Because the bbc are 100% to blame for someone organising a loan for Johnson before he started working for the bbc.

You really think that Tory influence at the BBC only started when Sharp was appointed?

No. But I’m not going to blame an apolitical institution for being infiltrated by a coordinated decade long assault from the right.

And I am in no way going to try to link that behaviour to a story about Everton’s female football team that has been written to make fans of a team I despise feel a bit better.

You’re right but it’s not the BBC’s fault. Government abuse of power.
