Hate to say it, but he needs to be moved on this transfer window.
Clearly not likely to sign a new contract, and we can't afford to lose him for nothing in the summer.

Why do you say that? He stays he goes. We move on. Incoming or someone from the development team. It's not all about the big cheese Mr bree. Hedam fine player that has matured, but pastures new calls. Diaryleave?

If we can afford to take a pittance for him now and be without him for the rest of the season, we can afford to let him walk in the summer.

          Cheers, Jim

If we are in the PL next season, he won't be leaving

Disagree. If heís out of contract in the summer, then we are likely to only receive a small fee for him in January; moreover, taking into account the sell on fee that villa are due to receive, it doesnít make much sense financially.

Also, losing one of our best players in January, when we are firmly in play off contention, could result in a significant backward step for the team. If we were to get promoted, he would almost certainly sign a new contact, and the prize money for promotion would be substantially higher than any fee we would receive by selling him.

Even then, it would be a big risk at this stage of the season. They would need to settle in seamlessly, for us to continue on an upward trajectory.

Agreed - Big shoes to fill. Essentially a top performing championship wing back.

                    Itís down to him.

The club can do nothing about it.
