I'm not one to get too carried away in the early days of a manager (positive or negative), but Edwards is really beginning to impress me.

He's not tried to change too much to soon, but you can see the positive tweaks he has made to the side. We are playing out from the back a bit more but happy to go long when needed.

I'm not sure if it's due to injuries but he likes to keep refreshing the side. Doubt Campbell would have started on the bench under NJ.

Probably and most importantly though, he has kept the team playing at an intensity that most sides struggle with. I thought that may drop off when Jones left but early signs are positive.

Great observation here... agree the aggression and intensity is key. This has become a bit of our style and identity in the past couple of years, and is largely a necessity if we are to compete at the top end of the table as we have been (as we can't compete financially). NJ instilled the style, attitude and approach, and on early impressions RE is refining it nicely. Long may it continue. We are in a great place.

If it wasn't for Burnley's parachute payments we'd be pissing this tinpot league.

Can't help thinking his calmer, less manic touchline demeanour is a big plus too.
