            Trollope, 50, made almost 500 appearances during a playing career that took in spells at Torquay United, Derby County, Coventry City and Northampton Town. The midfielder also won nine Welsh caps between 1997 and 2003, when Edwards featured in the same international squads.

              It was his Dad, John, who managed and played for Swindon - I think that he still holds the record for the most FL appearances for one club.

                  Trollope's Bristol Rovers team played very good football and had a shape and a system. Rovers went downhill after he left. Looks like a good appointment.
