Tommie Smith and John Carlos stood their ground at the 1968 Olympics raising their fists in defiance and solidarity with the situation in the US at that time, with both wearing black gloves. They were vilified back home by some but to others they were heroes. That iconic image still resonates today years after the event. You either support a cause and stick by it come what may or say and do nothing. Stand your ground England.

Yes they should definitely stand their ground if it means that much to them. If ordered to take it off it should be handed round the team. Book them all then and see the fallout from that.

I think the black power salute had more political connotations than that of a coloured armband, but I can see where you are making comparisons.
