Russia legging it across a bridge then blowing it up

Smacks of a full on withdrawal - Newell to the Kremlin

Sounds strategic, maybe they took a leisurely stroll back, mission accomplished

Russian TV has taken it well.

He was making a point about the lack of free speech. They (Putin's Iron Doll is host of the main talk show) are talking about it and saying what a wonderful withdrawal, no losses etc and then launching a tirade against the USA.

And the withdrawal seems to be troops only leaving behind lots of heavy equipment.

Putin hid behind the Army who had to announce the withdrawal - they like to spread the humiliation around with the Air Force and Navy having had plenty.

They also left there own units behind with no way out - Putin cannot survive this humiliation surely

I understand Putin has been offered a deal by the West, that if Russia withdraws fully from Ukraine, except Crimea, there will be no war crime repercussions for anybody.

Crimea is Ukraine so that's a non starter. Plus the war crimes are equivalent to those by the Nazi's in WW2. Finally, why would Ukraine agree when they are winning and Russia is struggling so badly (Iran has now halted drone and missile exports).

I can understand the Crimea bit, it was part of Russia until sometime in the 50s when Stalin gave it to Ukraine to celebrate 300 years of some pact or other. All part of the USSR then so it was purely ceremonial, become problematic now

I just have this sick feeling, that Kherson is now going to be flattened by everything Russia has left to throw at it.

Its a possibilty but realistically have they the equipment to do it,they are stretched on all fronts

The Russians are so dim they probably will. They have wasted almost their entire arsenal on an attempted genocide against civilians - 85% to 90% of shells, missiles etc are directed at civilians. If that had been aimed at the military they would have won by now. But they now grasp at the straw that the Winter will win the war for them by freezing the Ukrainian will to fight.

                    Maybe. But to what end?

They will just be wasting weapons they can't replace and they won't be able to re take it.

It's the Russian mentality - we laughed at General Melchitt's tactic of attacking 17 times by walking slowly towards the enemy so the 18th time will be a surprise but it's just what the Russians are doing.

Totally agree pal, but Putin has shown no logic at all throughout the entire campaign.

I also expect the huge dam to be destroyed soon by “a Ukranian missile”
