Truss refuses to rule out a further rise in state pension age.

Living standards have been dropping for the last 20 years+

A majority of people have experienced a continued drop in real wages.

Tax payers have artificially propped up the housing market and subsidized the ‘gentry’ widening inequality further.

Any sane person has realised there will be no ‘retirement’ with state pension for anyone below 50/55.

A majority of this is due to large scale immigration increasing the demand for goods and services. Prices rise faster than income and a higher volume economy gives the illusion of growth.

When demand increases faster than supply then prices increase.

A very simple example is housing costs.

House prices would have fallen over the last 20 years if we had limited immigration.

Housing costs are one of the biggest expenses and reducing this cost due to falling house prices would leave more disposable income.

It would have maintained or increased living standards and purchasing power.

Artificially inflated house prices provide access to financial leverage for "homeowners" and widen inequality this would not have been possible without large-scale immigration.

Yes due to the lower demand from fewer people.

Supply would have still increased as the construction industry would have still built more houses even if government incentives would have been needed to avoid mass unemployment.

Immigration fuels inequality and reduces living standards.

the easy way to cut costs is to increase the pension age. the Ladies received a very raw deal when their pension age was increased from 60 to 65 over a very short period, i think they are called the Waspi women.

It was a disgraceful thing to do, given that many women of that generation would have stopped full-time employment when they had children, or paid the "small stamp".
Luckily I scraped into getting my pension at 60 by a few months.

                                    Why?

                                    I thought women wanted equality?

When you take into account the differences in life expectancy, if the pension age for women hadn't increased, women would have their pensions paid for nearly 10 years longer than men,on average.

Where did I say that works pensions are related to the State Pension?

I don't know how much a refuse collector earns. Attempts to find a figure from the web gave vastly different figures.

Whatever they earn, if they are employed by a local authority, their pension would be vastly superior to a person earning the same wage in virtually any private company.

The discussion was about women's State Pension, not works pensions. Or are you unable to understand the difference?

We live also in a country that leads the table in inequality.

It's unfair in the extreme. That said, seeing how pension funds are taking a hammering I think a few people will be working longer now regardless.

The state pension is paid from tax revenue so nothing to do with how company / private pension are performing.
However a defined benefit pension ( as enjoyed by many in the public sector ) will actually be much cheaper to finance now than It was say 12 months ago.
