    Defending

    Uncharacteristic conceding 3 from crosses

Only one specialist centre half in the back maybe caught us out

As you say, only Lockyer as a centre half and a lack of height in general. Lockyer isn't massive and neither are Bree or Potts

Not really, first own goal, second penalty, 3rd a knackered Pelly lost his man at the far post.
The 2 regular centre half's have done well this season, Burke is an obvious miss.
So no we haven't been caught out, we are usually strong defending corners, tonight we were not so good.
        We move on.

Horvath should be coming for more crosses, that one was very much in the area you would expect any keeper to be in control of..

I would like to see him coming for crosses, I am still not convinced he is that good. I have yet to see him pull off a match winning save.
Sluga never came for corners either so it may be an organisation thing and he is told to let defenders deal with corners. Although Shea did start to come and punch a few away last season.
We are normally good at getting the first header in at defensive corners.

I would have more confidence in a fit Shea, but it's still early days.

Pretty much agree with that….he doesn’t fill me with confidence either …not sure he could blamed for any of the goals last night but the last one travelled along way across the 6 yard box …

Couldn't go tonight... so is some of that to do with the keeper? I am not yet convinced about him generally because as yet he hasn't actually had to do much but generally he seem a stay at home sort of keeper?

Great deliveries in tbf but we scored two own goals from corners and didn’t win the first header for the pen

              Can’t blame the keeper tonight

                The keeper is very passive.
He doesn’t dominate the 6 yard box.
Not seen him go for any crosses either.
Shea is a better keeper. Hope he gets fit early….

                  No way is Shea better.

And Horvath’s awareness and distribution is a class above Shea.

Shea far more consistent. Horvath totally fails to control even his six yard box which causes the defence to drop deeper.
No wonder Forest dumped him when 7 games in and bottom of the league. Shocking keeper

Considering Forest only lost one of the seven championship games Horvath played last season and the majority of his performances were in Feb/March when Samba was injured …I’d say you need to get your facts right

3rd gaol horvath is hiding behind the goal line.
Balls he does not possess, to quote the great Yoda .

? He caught a lot of crosses today.

Imo aside from the one that almost slipped through his legs he was solid

I was there tonight and agree - he caught a lot

Not seen any highlights yet though!

Yes not sure I get the criticism of Horvarth on this thread.

He is solid, does the basics and catches more crosses than Shea does.

                            I like him
