Love the guys energy but wish he was not moaning about Bell playing in America. At the end of the day it is a great experience for the guy to play against Messi etc and no doubt a few hour travel is not going to mess up a young athlete that much

He was moaning about the game being played in America. And the reasons behind it. H eowudl also moan about "game 39" , and English clubs playing each other in the far east in a mid winter break. And the world cup being in qatar etc. Do you see the common link?

Yeah, but our club also moaned about betting companies not so long ago. Now we're taking their dirty money.

Seems every man/club has it's price.

Are we taking it by choice? Or because they are the league sponsor?

If it was "forced" on us then shouldn't we have had a public statement from the club by now explaining how it found itself as a helpless pawn? And maybe how that dirty money it received has been forwarded on to help the gambling addicts and their victims?

            Was their even any resistance?

              'there'

As you (should) well know, the point was not to be sponsored, 'personally' by betting companies. Not to refuse money from sponsorship of any of the competitions in which we compete.

I'm guessing deliberate trolling but I'm not ruling out the possibility that you're just stupid and a dick. Eh, Melters. Actually, if that were the case, all three.

              Cheers, Jim

Oh, right. So the club's stance was that it was only OK to promote betting companies in certain ways?

That would be like me or you saying we would never wear a T-shirt that says "I HEART PAEDO'S" on it, but if your boss/council/government came round and stuck those type of stickers all over your house, you'd just leave them there and never bother mentioning it to anyone?!

Am I missing something here what nonsense are you on about?

Is it the Sky Bet thing that Andy Holt of Accrington Stanley started?

                    Yeah, EXACTLY the same, Melters.

If this is a deliberate routine, that's pretty bonkers. I'm not sure you can remember when it stopped being voluntary. Get yourself some help.

                    Cheers, Jim

We don't know if it has actually been taken, do we? Maybe the question has been asked though. 'Helpless pawn', 'dirty money it received'? Do you realise what a tit you're making of yourself this evening? (Or whatever time of day it is where you are?)

I think it's safe to assume that if the money was refused then we, as supporters of the club, would have known about it.

But thanks for engaging with me on the actual topic for once. If you think I'm making a tit of myself on other topics, then instead of calling me a tit, try arguing your case - that's if you can, of course.

What, get into your conspiracy theory guff? Not in a month of Sundays, been there many times, done that, don't intend to engage with it again. Especially with someone who seems to be ranting for no apparent reason.

So if the game was in Jamaica or Argentina would that be OK?

It would be logical as those were the countries competing . Be a bit of a pain for the player for a friendly. I`d say the only acceptable reasons for playing and international friendly outside either countries borders would be a tournament or unsuitable infrastructure - so san marino or ukraine for very different reasons.

Nothing much wrong with San Marino: decent stadium, enthusiastic and friendly locals, good nosh, sunny weather -
even if the national team is rather limited.
