Think it is pretty obvious that the public are falling out of love for the National game.

Is this down to Southgate, recent results and performances or just a preference for club football? I suppose its a combination of all these factors.

Don’t think anyone was in love with Nations league in the first place.

It's still September and there are all of six weeks of proper football left until just before Xmas.

Unless by proper football you mean Premier League, it is eight weeks - six before the break and two after.

I suppose to be accurate, League 1, 2 and non league football carries on during the break. But it's going to be weird. I don't relish November in any year, clocks going back etc, but I always find the matchday atmosphere at that time of the year more than decent compensation.

Bloody hell, that's a depressing thought KS.

What a crock of shit this FIFA/UEFA/PL dominated football world has become

Love watching England in world cups and Euros, great if they do well, creates a good atmosphere around the country, Nations league is Mickey mouse but better than friendlies, English and proud

Ta. These days I have little or no interest in football outside of LTFC to be honest, though I do quite enjoy the EFL highlights show (mostly to watch our loan or ex players)

                  What's it even for?
Is it like the group stage of the efl trophy?
Or a u9s tournament, where everyone gets a medal for turning up.
Sorry, if Luton Town aren't in the competition I can only pretend to be interested.

If the Faroe Islands can win games at it, it must be taken very seriously by everyone involved.

The 4 Group A winners go into a semi final/final format and a chance to win the tournament… albeit a small scale one

It may not be great but better than pointless friendlies. At least there is something on the games.

It's also massively important to the mid-tier nations with regards to tournament qualification because not only does it give an extra route to the Euros, but results have a greater effect on co-efficients and subsequent seeding as they are competitive matches rather than friendlies.
So for those countries like the Scandinavians and the non-English home nations a good Nations League campaign can get them into pot 2 for the qualification groups and a much better chance of qualifying.

France beat Spain at the San Siro. But the finals are largely irrelevant, the rest of it serves a purpose.
