At one time, I used to hope to finish a marathon in under double the winner's time - now, I would be delighted to get within three times their time.

At the London Marathon exhibition, they had a challenge to run 400 metres on a treadmill at marathon world record pace. Most people couldn't get anywhere near to doing it.

Hope you're well mate? Haven't seen you at a game for a while. Mind you, I haven't been to the Bobbers since those new types did their power grab.

all good fella, Bobbers is dying and falling apart, the mould in the hallway is disgusting, it's dripping down the walls and has even gone into the team pictures, is Piper anything to do with it still?

It's a disgrace what those new people did to grab it and what they've done since. They spotted a weakness and exploited it, and as for 'where's the money gone', well unfortunately that's something it's probably unwise to talk about on here. I vowed at the start not to set foot in there again and I haven't. I think JP has been sidelined but he and his fellow ex committee people were very feeble to let it happen from what I can gather.

A crying shame, enjoyed popping in there for a quick snifter or two.

What a shame it's come to that. You and Palletman and co were part of the fabric of the place, along with several other familiar groups some of whom have boycotted as I have. It was a cracking, quirky little place. Not,as some think, purely for window lickers! 🤣 And always impressed away fans, I'm sure - from the outside. Would have been so much better if the Trust had run it. The hijack wouldn't have happened if so.

Have not set foot in it for over 30 odd years.

Spent a lot of my childhood in it though and used to love the place.

Has it still got the railway carriage design?

If it was 30 years ago was it under the Bobbers stand? It's at the Oak Road end now. A bit hazy about its history, I only started going in it when the busway stop made it convenient. It's certainly got the railway carriage interior feel once you've gone down the entry corridor.
