    Katanga my friends

Did he really give millionaires an extra 40 thousand pounds in the "mini budget " on top of £400 for their utility bills. Money goes to Money. The rich are not going to spend they are going to invest overseas. Trickle down economy! More like piss on the poor. If the government wants to improve the country then help the poor with better housing better food better wages and keep energy bills low. That way you won't have people needing to go into hospital due to malnutrition hypothermia and mental issues.

So says the silly old chap who has never spelt cappuccino correctly (and if it's a reference to the cartoon character, that's a double p too - Andy Capp). Glass houses and all that!

My point Einstein, is that the Government are not giving the rich money. They are taking less.

If you have 10 apples and I say that I think your next door neighbour, who only has one because heís too lazy to look after his tree should get 4 of yoursÖ. Then I say, no the fair way is to only give him 2 of yours. Iím not giving you 2 apples am I, Iím taking less. Iím still taking more from the hard working lot than the not so hard working lot.

And as for this notion thatís being branded around that the £40k the government are giving the Ďrichí is gonna be spent abroad 😝

You lefties have proper lost the plot.

So where are they going to put it?

In an account with one of the big banks paying 0.1%, and incurring tax?

Or in an offshore account giving much higher interest and not liable for tax?

Who says poor people are feckless? Only you.

You would need to have a very, very substantial amount in the bank at that rate to have to pay tax on it.

That's the rate paid on small amounts in easily-accessible saving accounts. Which the rich bloke wouldn't be touching with a bargepole anyway.
                    Which was my point.

The point that I am making is that a basic rate tax payer could have a million pounds invested at that rate and still not have to pay tax on the interest, even without putting any of it into an ISA.

Also, there are plenty of instant access savings accounts that pay a better rate than that even on small amounts.

A basic rate tax payer doesnít pay tax on the first £1000 of interest. For a higher rate tax payer it is the first £500. Anyone earning that amount of interest should be putting some of their money into an ISA which doesnít count towards those limits.

You think the highest internet rate in this country is 0.1% ? You can get 3.5% without looking too hard.

Maybe people who worked hard all their lives might spend the extra money not being taken from them on products and services from this country. I know that the country has turned into a third world country since Brexit and all that but Iíll be buying extra things here.

When you say "money being taken" are you talking about taxes?
Do you not believe in paying taxes for the NHS, police, fire service, social services, education, the running of government, etc., etc.?
Or are you advocating paying taxes only for those services you agree with?
Because that is a recipe for chaos.
