Labour has never been in favour of large corporations and their CEOs getting given loadsamoney, instead preferring to see actual workers being given a break, as you very well know.

A windfall tax would heavily mitigate against it.

But we chose to protect fossil fuel profits and instead borrow it and attack the modest green levy, modest that is compared to the subsidies still given to that same fossil fuel industry.

There was pretty much in name only.

They can get 90% off the tax if they agree to explore for more fossil fuels in UK territory . . .

So we are not only giving them a discount we are effectively encouraging them to dig for more fossil fuels that we cannot afford to burn when they find them.

The current government policies are lunacy. restricting renewable developments while encouraging fracking . . . it couldn't be much more wrong.

                                          There was.

But Labour's proposal is to backdate it for profits from January.

We’ll have a coalition next time around. And hopefully the Lib Dems will name their price (another referendum on PR - which they’ll win) which will permanently rid us of the Tory menace. People have had enough of this shit now and the Tories have only themselves to blame.
