And it's 'taking a knee' as in 'have a rest' as opposed to 'bending the knee' as in 'subservience'. The willful misrepresentation of such has probably done much, much, more to stoke up resentment than the actual gesture.

Out of interest why do you say it’s “complete bollocks”?
Because it hasn't caused racism where it didn't exist. That's just simply not true.
You want to show me one example of someone who is now racist because some footballers made a gesture against racism and I'll show you someone who was racist all along but was too thick to realise it.
And while we may not be the least tolerant, this country is more than intolerant enough even if most of the "can't say nuffink these days" mob are too cowardly to admit it.
Cheers, Jim

Would have been worse under your mate Corbyn, apparently we shouldn’t be helping Ukraine, And just asking Putin nicely to leave Ukraine alone, and could he give Crimea back?
But ex-leader of a party that I haven't voted for for at least twenty years saying that we shouldn't prolong and exaggerate the war for the benefit of the Ukrainian people and the security of the world in general isn't the most controversial thing.

To be honest the situation in Ukraine probably wouldn't be much different if the UK wasn't doing what it's doing (we don't make much difference on a global stage)

Much less now than when we were part of a large co-operative bloc which some people were fooled into thinking wasn't for them.
