Help - Not for profit organisation

    Posted by C93 on 3/8/2022, 20:00:30

    Hi all

Not sure if anyone on here has any experience but Im thinking of starting a not for profit. Clearly there is a huge problem around the UK with homelessness and availability of housing. Id like to start a not for profit, linked to football where supporters can purchase a form of merchandise linked to their club of choice and the proceeds go to towards tackling homelessness, specifically in the area of the supported club. This could help raise vitally needed funds that would be deployed in the local conurbations to directly help in the areas that we all love and support.

Would I need to contact the necessary clubs to gain their permission?

Very early stages, just thought processing at the moment but any feedback would be appreciated!

    Thanks

Most clubs have copyright over their badges etc so if the merchandise includes anything like that you would need to clear it with them. I would say contact them all anyway as they may help in some way (donations, publicity etc). Other than the time that it would take, you have nothing to lose and you avoid any potential problems further down the line.

Far too sensible response Outy. Why don't you just tell him to fark orfff like most of the dimwits on here - although it's probably because you're not a dimwit that you don't.

I think quite a few already do things with the needy in their communities, so some contact might help you avoid duplicating the good work of others or have misguided, wellmeaning people hurling abuse at you for undermining their own activities.

          Good luck with it.
